First ever Caribbean Film Marketplace.

CaribbeanTales in association with One Caribbean Media and the Shridath Ramphal Center, presents “The Best of the CaribbeanTales Film Festival and Symposium”, in Barbados from February 23rd March 2nd 2010.

Alongside a Symposium on Global Distribution, workshops, Master classes and screenings, the Festival will feature the first ever Caribbean Film Marketplace, co-hosted with the Shridath Ramphal Center, UWI.

Modelled on the Rotterdam Cinemart, selected independent producers will have an opportunity to  pitch their projects and have one on one meetings with regional and international film and TV buyers and stakeholders, including broadcasters, government representatives, cinema owners, representatives of the educational sector, international donors.

The 1 day workshop will be an intensive opportunity for buyers and producers to get to know each other, find common ground around new and existing projects, and forge deals.

Producers are invited to submit proposals for the Marketplace, that should include the following:

1. A 1 page description of your project

2. A full script script, scene samples or treatment

3. A letter outlining why you want to participate in the Marketplace, and what you hope to get out of it.

4. CVs and bios of the Team.

5. Budget topsheet, Schedule, and Financing Plan.

6. Producers can be from anywhere in the Diaspora, however the content should be Caribbean-centred.

7. Projects can cover any genre, format, or media.
